Safety & compliance training
Turn safety and compliance expectations into realistic decision moments where people must apply rules under ambiguity, time pressure, and competing priorities. Capture evidence of escalation, judgment, and correct application—not just recall.
What it looks like at Nano Masters AI Oil & Gas Downstream
Role: Field operations specialist supporting a refinery process unit
Format: 12-minute branching safety scenario, delivered by link or in your LMS (SCORM)
Fictional blueprint company, used for illustration.
The situation
The specialist works alongside site operators at a refinery where the company's reliability models run against the plant historian. Mid-shift, the anomaly model flags a slow temperature drift on a pump seal, while a contractor crew a few meters away is preparing hot work on an adjacent line under a permit issued that morning. The site is under pressure to keep the turnaround schedule, and the company has recently tightened its expectations on audit-ready evidence.
The decision
The contractor supervisor asks the specialist to confirm conditions so the crew can start, and the specialist notices the permit's gas test was taken several hours ago, before the pump alert appeared.
What the scorecard shows
The scorecard separates rule application from judgment: permit conditions verified, escalation timing, and how the specialist communicated risk to the contractor. A pattern of correct permit checks but late escalation on analytics alerts would point to a targeted coaching path on acting on leading indicators, rather than a full re-certification.
